Ez neki meg csak a foproba volt, mert ez csak egy 2 oras ut volt, penteken ezt 4szeresen kell kibirnia. De tervezem a kozeli parkban lefarasztani utazas elott, mint ahogy ma utazas utan is tettem.

After a year of organizing it ( and many years of planning it) we have left Hungary on Sunday to try our luck somewhere else: Chicago, Illinois, USA
We have a 5 days of layover in Amsterdam, to visit Brian`s family as well and say good by to them. On Friday we are leaving to the US.

The process was more like pain in the bummhole.. lots of paperwork and money, waiting and hoping you got all information right, but in August i have received the last mail from USCIS with the date of my visa interview. Still had to do the medical check up, but on 12th of October I have received my stamp in my passport : ready to go. Was handy that we went to Chicago a week later for a wedding, so when I entered the country they started the process for the actual green card.

So here we are, packed up our lives in 4 suitcases and 5 boxes. We sent those boxes via post already, hoping we will receive them eventually in the US.We are also traveling with our four legged baby, Fluffy the Shih Tzu, who actually had to go on diet in order to make it to the cabin and not the bottom of the plane. She lost 700 gr so she could fly with us by our feet. She was a champ, not barking at all, just sleeping, sometimes sticking her head out of her travel cage, to check on us.  She still has to fly one more and tht will be a long one... 8 hours.. but she will be fine. We started to give her a Calm pill only natural ingredients (valerian).

The first month we will live in an apartment rented via Airbnb / seemed the best solution , as it is in a good neighborhood and furnished, so we have some time to find our own place and furnish it. We do not have a job yet, but that was one of the reason we have chosen Chicago: there are lots of big companies with open positions.  Plus I signed up for 2 job fairs with direct hire, which will be on the first week when we are there already, so fingers crossed.

For a first post that is it for now, but definitely will continue on friday or saturday, how the second part of our travel went.
